CLVFA Minutes

May 20th, 2007

Meeting called to order @ 6:09 pm

Attending Members: Kylee Vicha (Chief/President), Jennifer Harper, Scott Lewis, Denise LePage

New Board Members: Steve Johnson, Kim Ward, Michael Clark, Scott Lewis, Denise LePage

1st Order: Election of Officers:

• Jennifer Harper - Secretary
• Kim Ward - Treasurer
• Steve Johnson - Vice President
• Members at large - Denise LePage, Michael Clark, Scott Lewis

2nd Order: Objectives

Need to establish committee for beautification of the grounds:

• - someone to organize community members to clear brush, dispose of trash, etc for both the upper & lower firehouses

Dave Ward is in charge of the Gate Committee

• - Need list of options for maintaining gates for the Board members to make decision

Need to organize work party to trim brush, limbs and debris from both s sides of the roads on Casa Loma & Loma Chiquita

Need to establish a committe for Fundraising

• - Denise LePage said she'll head the committee and Scott said he'll help her

Need to find a Corporate Lawyer to rewrite the CLVFA By-Laws which will have to be approved by the community

• - First step is find a lawyer willing to work pro-bono

3rd Order: General Discussion

• Steve will put together and stock the new truck at the lower firehouse donated to us with the equipment needed so it is fire-ready.
• The gates will be addressed when the board is given different options to choose from by the Gate Committee - Scott wants to join the Gate Committee.
• Suggest one or two people to obtain licenses to drive the water tenders on city roads to assist with other fire departments as needed.
• Scott said his priority is to get SCBA's & meet Jim Peterson at Mallory Fire. Scott said it may be possible to obtain free equipment thru Mallory Fire and will oet us know.
• Jennifer will look into Porta-Potty pricing for the upper firehouse.
• Denise will look into Chem-Toilets for the upper firehouse.
• Next Fire Training will be the 1st weekend of June (3rd) at the lower firehouse. Following Fire Training and next Board Meeting will be July 15th at the upper firehouse.
