NOTE: We have a new Mountain resident. Jennifer had baby baby 2007.03.30 at 1515. It was 20", 7.3 lbs.
A. Stolen Truck
1. Truck stolen from lower firehouse (Casa Loma)
2. House was locked and locked after truck stolen
a. most likely a current or previous mountain resident
3. CHP and Sheriff investigating
4. County will pay impound fees until released
5. Truck will be towed back to Gordy's for parts salvage
a. 200$ towing to Gordy's will be covered
B. Insurance
1. Truck and building insurance cancelled/lapsed
a. Insurance on trucks was liability only
2. Jennifer is heading work to get insurance reinstated
C. HAZMAT course: April 28-29
1. We have final list of folks to attend: ~50
2. Mike Lyon can provide tables and chairs
a. DWard to contact Mike to try and have them delivered day before course
3. Need cooking volunteers
a. Kim Ward volunteered to help w/ menu, donations and cooking
D. Cleaning Firehouse day: April 21

1. Will be time of general meeting and elections

H. Security of firehouses
1. New combination locks on both houses
a. combo only goes to active volunteers
b. will be changed periodically
2. Chief requests we put bars on windows
NOTE: Rene Thompson has gear and would like to return it. She is in Morgan HIll. Craig to lead recovery of gear.
I. Green Truck from upper house
1. At Gordy's
2. Will be fixed at no charge
3. Jennifer/Wayne donated parts
J. Truck maintenance
1. Gordy is only person to maintain trucks
2. Noone else to work on any vehicle
K. Class B licenses
1. Some volunteers must obtain
2. If we have licenses we can be dispatched by CDF who will pay for time
a. 2k$/day
b. 1 person responding is 12 hr call
c. 2 persons = 24 hr on call
3. license fees to be paid (upon successful completion) by CLVFA
a. requires book reading, written and driving test
4. County and State cracking down on FD w/o any Class Bs and inspected trucks
Doug: Class B is "Fire Fighter" endorsement, not general class B
L. Start of fire season = April 16, 2007
1. very hot and dry winter/spring
2. CDF burn rekindled today and we were dispatched to put out
3. After burn season over, Kylee to post signs
4. If burning between now and end, must call in burn
Walt: Fines are large and due to air quality mgmt. No ease on fines due to elevation > 3kft
Jim: Can always have heating and cooking fire. Pls bring bratwurst to his burn.
M. Location of Volunteers
1. Kylee needs to know when people are available on hill
2. Example, structure fire at Merrick's and only Uvas stayed on site

NOTE: ICS is only major course left unscheduled
Jim O: Can we have CDF and not coast guard, navy, priest or dog catcher give ICS course? Desire to have someone knowledgeable in fire fighting ICS.
Kylee: Must work it out w/ other stations during fire seasons. Almaden (22) or Alma are two to coordinate with.
Scott: Contacting Rick for another confined space course
Kylee: post April 16, Rick working at Academy
Jim O: Would like to change back to first Sunday of month for training. Weekend time is critical for chores/work
Kylee: Must be 2x per month until we are fully trained. Rick W (CDF trainer) only avail on Sats

O. Truck training

a. willing to do at any convenient day or time
2. Everyone knows a little but, he will train a core group in depth
a. Shaun agrees: train the trainers

b. note that issues is lack of volunteers on Casa Loma: only Shorty
c. we need more folks from CL
NOTE: All of Merrick's gear burnt in fire. one pager all gear
NOTE: Kylee - we have no extra pagers, must be in FD for 6 months and trained to qualify
NOTE: Buddy Boxton (sp?) as type 1 engine avail for 5k$
NOTE: Zoitan (sp?) is ex-SJ FD person w/ a lot of gear, trucks, etc looking to trade gear for a place to put trailer
P. Gear
1. Some people don't have all gear or have gear that is too old
2. Need to recover old gear, take inventory of new gear
3. Replace as necessary
NOTE: Owen: all these ideas are great and take $. Requires vote according to bylaws before checks are written
II. Funding priorities

Jim: Originally had 23 sets of gear. Must fetch and take inventory
Walt: If purchase new gear get "shirt option" vs "jacket." Our gear is too heavy

G. Maintenance of gates
1. Gray gate doesn't lock
2. no gate on CL
3. no gate far end of LC
4. Ed Anderson has researched and worked on gray gate but, not on list to purchase more locks
5. Kylee - We have permission from Pat Congdon from SC Open Space to put a locked gate at the end of their property but, maintenance is our responsibility

b. Our old CL gate is behind lower firehouse
Jim O: We also have permission by Mid Penn Open Space to put locked gate at Mt Madonna/Summit. Maintenance is our responsibility. It would require a 24 hour armed guard. Much laughter.
6. Need gate for far end of LC
a. Ed, Kylee to investigate location
b. Ed to get estimate of cost
Jim: Sheriff will enforce traffic violations if we call in nuisance and posted signs on road
7. Upper gate discussion led by Ed
a. RFID - 800$ for bullet proof, mechanics in welded box
b. Gate would be modified for manual open, auto close
Kylee: want 3 options and take to community at gen'l meeting for vote
Many speakers: not sure best plan as wouldn't conclude w/ community vote
Walt: Bylaws state that CLVFA must give 1 key to all households
c. Ed to get complete quote for all gear, installation of RFID system
