Minutes: June 2, 2002

Attendance:
Mary Ellen LePage, President Bob Bowman
Anita Holser, Secretary Nelson O'Connor, Member at large
Walt Eastwood, Vice President Ron Cross
The meeting was called to order at 12:30 pm at the LePage's. The minutes of the last minutes were read and approved.
Locks
Discussion about improving the locks and reducing the cost began the meeting.  After some discussion, it was decided to try push-button locks in place of key locks, which are very expensive to replace. It should be easier for residents and visitors to use pushbutton locks.  The combination is easy to change, and they are far less expensive and less likely to be vandalized We will try the new locks on one of the gates first to see how it works out.  Walt made a motion to replace the lock on the upper gate with a pushbutton lock.  Mary Ellen seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Insurance
We need to check on the insurance coverage.  Anita will see what is covered by our policy and we will discuss it at the next meeting.
Training
Nelson said that we need to do training on the basic operation of the trucks.  Bob suggested that we have 'mentor's for new trainees, who can show new people the basics.
Equipment
We need to get anti-siphon devices for the trucks that don't have them.  Walt volunteered to do this.  The radio has been installed on the white truck and is working now.  There is still a little money left from last year's grant.  We will get the new pump, and will check into other items that we may be able to put on the grant.  Mary Ellen will follow up on this.
Newsletter
Nelson mentioned that there was no newsletter this year.  Mary Ellen said it had been emailed.  Nelson thought it would be a good idea to mail instead.  It was decided that we would mail out a newsletter twice a year.
The meeting adjourned at 1:15 pm.
Respectfully,
Anita Holser
Secretary
